This is a space where you can stroke cats, or play with them.
We opened this "café" in August of 2014. This place is the cats' home. The customers are guests in their home. We make the café as happy and comfortable a space as we can for both the cats and for us humans. To avoid stressing our cats, no additional cats are allowed. In Japan, it is said that dogs become attached to their owners, while cats become attached to their home. We charge 600 yen for 20 minutes with our felines. You can bring your own drinks. Toys for cats are loaned out for free, but we charge for cat snacks. It is easy to attract the cats when you have snacks for them. You may take photos, but flashes are not allowed.
Cats are quite curious about things that seem to be a lot of fun.
All the cats here have had an unfortunate past. They were abandoned or at shelters. When we took them in, they were very cautious and not friendly at all. We had to bring them to veterinarians, and take time to help them get used to us and to this house. That is why we decided to delay our opening date. Some people are concerned that different customers coming in and out all the time might stress the cats, but our experience says that's not true. In fact, the cats seem to be very interested in meeting new people. This is a good place for cats lovers, especially for those whose housing doesn't allow for cats.
