  1. 1,Before passing through a torii gate, nod briefly to the altar. A torii gate is the entrance to the shrine. Areas beyond the gate are the precinct of the deity and should be treated respectfully.
  2. 2,When you walk on an approach to the shrine, walk to one side of the road, not in the middle. Visitors must not walk in the middle of the approach. This is the sacred path of the deity.
  3. 3,Wash your hands and mouth at the purification trough at the tower gate. It is important to purify both your mind and body before a visit to the shrine.
  4. 4,Ring the bell in front of the main shrine and throw money into the offertory box. Then, worship in the order of "two bows, two hand claps and one bow." Two deep bows, two hand claps, and another deep bow for the one last time.

Fushimi Inari Shrine is a sacred space, worshipped by many people for a long period of time. Be sure to act respectfully and with consideration for others, so that everyone can have a pleasant visit to the shrine.
